I used multiple design principles in creating this poster, some of those being contrast, alignment, and emphasis. One design principle I used was contrast. I used contrast by making boxes with different color. The center is white, and the boxes around it are dark grey, light grey, and green. To add even more contrast, I made the text white in the dark grey box. I also used alignment, by lining up the pros and cons side by side. If I would have put the pros in the top left and cons in the bottom right, the poster would not have been aligned. Having the pros and cons next to each other with the diagonal separation between them really pops the separation, but at the same time keeps it aligned. Another design principle I used in creating the poster was emphasis. The picture in the center is the first thing that catches the viewer’s eye and therefore is the piece that is emphasized. The project itself is about Otter.ai, which is an artificial intelligence software that can be used in education. I chose to make my poster about that tool because I use it frequently, and wanted to show how helpful it is to other people.
